Yuva Parivartan focuses on school dropouts residing in slum areas in & around Mumbai , Pune, Nasik, Bangalore & other cities who are in need of vocational training to be able to improve their livelihood & future. KSWA has also set up Centers in the Tribal villages of Nasik & Wada (Thane Dist From the main Vocational Training Centre at our community center in Kherwadi, Bandra (E), the project has now grown to include 80+ centers which includes 35 ORCs, 5 jail centers,35 Mini outreach centers(MORCs),34 Partnership centers. Associate Vocational Training Center (AVTC) is a tested model to run a vocational training centre with our Expertise, Guidance and Support aiming at Income Generation for Self Sustainability. Through this project we hope to partner with like-minded NGOs on a pan-India basis.
An Associate of YP would be provided with Staff Training, Fundraising Referrals and techniques, a Start-Up Kit, as well as ongoing support (as mentioned in the M.O.U.) . For the Partnership Application Form, click here.

KSWA was one of the NGO’s invited by the Mumbai Police to help implement our Yuva Parivartan Project for their First Time Offender (FTO) Rehabilitation Project. Under this project a first time offender identified in the age group between 18-25 years, who committed petty offences like theft, provoked rioting, hurt cases, and is out on bail after being booked for an offence, needs counselling & guidance so that he does not go back to a life of crime. The police station identifies & sends such youth to our centres for Training & Counselling.
We also conduct Vocational Training Courses in 5 prisons. This is primarily done to rehabilitate prison inmates after they complete their sentence & integrate them into the mainstream society. They are taught skills to enable them to earn a livelihood & lead a productive & dignified life.
In September 2008, we started IRDP (Integrated Rural Development Programme) centre at Wada supported by Bombay Gowrakshak Trust. The following are the 4 pillars of IRDP:
1. Improved Agricultural Practices
2. Water Resource Management
3. Women Empowerment
4. Livestock Management
We have selected 40 villages in Wada & Bhiwandi Talukas of Thane district where a Krishi Pashu Sathi has been appointed in each village to implement programme related to above.
YPISD imparts structured & systematic Entrepreneurship Development Movement through Training & continuous follow-up services to budding Entrepreneurs. YPISD targets deprived communities for income generation activities to be undertaken. The major focus is on School drop-outs & women from the slums to take up the self employment related activities. Lot of Govt. sponsored training programs & other activities are carried out for the purpose.
Sensitization / Awareness Training programs for the candidates who join Vocational Training programs in the ORCs are also conducted. The YP Club members & the families of students’ (present / existing) are given training which is conducted free of cost / at subsidized rates.
YPISD works for financially deprived Society through its Sponsored activities. The poor & needy youth / women are given a chance to undergo our Professional Courses under the Sponsorships for Training Programme by Govt. / Semi- Govt. Departments.
The Balwadi was started in 1928 by Mr. B.G. Kher and grew along with the children upto standard VII, after which it was handed over to the BMC to run as a school. In its present avatar, the Balwadi (or pre-school) educates about 120 children between the ages of 2 ½- 5 years. The children are provided with a nutritious hot meal daily and engage in a host of activities.
We provide counselling services to our students and also offer these services in various prisons. The mission of the counselling centre is to provide help through psychological interventions & promote change in the life of every YP member so that they reach optimum potential in work, health & happiness.
We offer Career / Vocational Guidance, Psychological testing and conduct programs on HIV/AIDS awareness, stress management and problem solving etc. We also conduct individual counselling sessions.
